Sterling silver, struck in France by a house that has been making medals since 1906. Mary stands on the world with the serpent under her heel — the image she asked for, carved the way she described it.

Small enough to wear every day. Substantial enough that you know it's there.

The design was given to St. Catherine Labouré in a Paris chapel in 1830. Our Lady told her to have a medal struck exactly as she appeared, and promised graces to everyone who wore it with trust. Catherine was twenty-four and nobody believed her for two years. The medal was minted in 1832, and within a decade people were calling it miraculous.

Struck by Martineau in the Loire Valley, in a workshop that has made medals and nothing else since 1906 — the old way, between two steel dies. We went looking for someone who could tell us where their silver came from, and found a house that could.
